The Water Advancement & Innovation Nexus (WAIN) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of our members, community reporters, researchers, and partners.

1. Information We Collect

When you interact with WAIN via our digital portals (Membership, WaterWatch, Water Academy, WAIN Club, Institutional Partnerships, Contact Inquiries, Careers, and Dispatches), we collect necessary identifying information such as full name, email address, country of residence, institutional affiliation, and technical inquiry details.

2. Purpose and Legal Basis

We process information strictly to administer professional memberships, verify and escalate community water incident reports, deliver continuing professional development curriculum, coordinate hybrid technical sessions, and verify employer job openings. WAIN never sells or commercializes personal data.

3. Data Retention and Security

Personal data is encrypted and stored securely within WAIN digital infrastructure managed at our continental headquarters in Nifas Silk Sub-City, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Access is restricted strictly to authorized secretariat officers and system administrators.

4. Your Rights & Data Erasure

You have the right to request access to your stored records or request complete erasure of your personal information from our databases at any time. To exercise these rights, please email our Data Governance Desk at info@wain.org.et with subject line Data Erasure Request. Requests are fulfilled within 72 hours.
